Kinja'd!!!

What's your car, and what would you do if you had the budget?

I'd basically raid the Audi and European parts catalog.

I'd love to drop the 2.5 TFSI from the TT-RS into my Golf R. The golf R has the same chassis as the RS3, so this is a very simple swap. The only complication would be relocating the battery to the trunk, but this isn't too bad, since that is where the MKV R32 had its battery to make room for the VR6...retrofit kits are available.

While we're at it, why not go full APR stage 3.

For suspension and wheels, I'd have to go with tried and true KW V3 coilovers. Rubber should be big and fat: 255/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport all around, wrapped around black 18x9.5 HRE P40 wheels. This will not fit under the stock fenders, so I'd also bolt on SRS-Tec 25mm front fenders and roll the rears. The drivetrain will have a HPA Competition haldex controller and a heavy duty clutch.

Brakes: 14" brembos up front, 13" rear.

Exterior: Euro HID projectors with black housings, and LED rear tails.

Interior: OEM Recaro Sportsters from the Euro VW/Audi catalog, black leather with black alcantara center inserts and silver contrasting stitching to match the rest of the interior. OEM RNS-510 navigation from the Euro cars as well.

Or for the cost of all this you could just buy a 997 GT3. But hey, dream builds are fun!

Fully forged 4.6 bumped up to 5.0

Kenne bell 2.2L

TR-6060 6spd manual trans

Penske adjustable coilovers

19" Trueforged Mach 5's or Sleepers

Repaint the whole car Redfire

refinish the seats with an alcantara or suede insert

I could go on and on, for now my goal is just to hit 11's on a stock longblock, right now I'm sitting at a 12.1

Hmm, for my Taurus SHO I want:
Tune, Downpipes, exhaust cut outs, coil overs, transmission cooler, oil cooler upgraded brakes and brake lines, Corsa exhaust system, TWS wheels, meth injection, upgraded ATP turbo's, some light visual upgrades, a set of summer and winter tires, upgraded fuel system and last but not least, someone somewhere somehow to program the AWD unit to send more power to the rear.

I've got #1 and 2 covered, other than that it's thousands and thousands of dollars I dont have, haha. Also I'm sure I could have listed more, lol.

And yes, I could I also be driving a very expensive car for the cost of all those upgrades. Or get a second car, which I probably will do once my car payments on this are done, haha.

330Ci:

Built transmission (it's an auto)

AC Schnitzer Type III wheels

Koni FSD shocks, stock sport springs

That would be about $14k.

For my Z4, I really wouldn't do anything to it. If I wanted to go monumentally insane, I'd just put a BMW S85 under the hood in place of the current N52 motor. Bonus: The S85 is shorter than the N52, and the E85 body has enough space for the S85 to fit.

However, I consider this to be almost undrivable, as it would have way too much power to actually use without being very talented.

I'd leave my Mini alone. I'm fine with it as it is.

The Ford? I'd be either doing a 4BT swap or a Navistar VT365 swap, to be honest.

IMSA GTO spec 20 valve turbo motor for my 1991 Audi 200 20v turbo quattro. Couple that with the suspension setup for the 1988 SCCA trans-am 200 sedans and give it the Audi V8 Evo body kit. It's pretty much a fixer-upper, and of course I need actual garage space to do some of this shit, lest da rain get in the way of my shenanigans (currently, I do the work in front of my house on the street)

I'd replace the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and everything else you have to take off just to access that shit.

Then, I'd change the brake pads and rotors (Centric Premium rotors and Axxis Ultimate pads), all four speed sensors, upgrade my headlights to HIR, replace the front bumper and fender, the ignition coils and fuel injectors, the rear window motor/regulator, the master window switch, the driver's door keyhole, the driver's visor, replace the torn front seats, shift knob, steering wheel, install factory heated seats (my car came without them).

I would've also wanted to install Koni Reds, but they were way too expensive and only came in insert cartridge form. Now, my car did have non-sealed struts, but one of the strut bodies was actually broken because the piston rod kept mis-striking and killed the threads. So instead, I used Gabriel quick struts.

I'd like to be able to clean my wheels, but that seems to be impossible, even with full-strength simple green, but that's less important the other shit I listed above.

Going through High School and College, I had a few dreams, most of them pretty pedestrian (which I guess might be what happens when you do these things through a major recession): Get a full job, own a house, have a family...you know, boring stuff.

I've ticked those off the list, and there's just one more left: Get my hands on a Skyline R32 GT-R, and build it to the point that it does a 1/4 mile in the 10s (What can I say? I'm from the F&F era, and the idea of a "10 second car" has always been appealing to me).

Now, once I manage to do that, I'm not 100% confident that I won't keep going and try to, say, get it into the 9s...But something tells me I'm already going to have to give a left arm to get it down to 10, so I guess we'll see.

I guestimate $15-20K for the car, and probably $10-15K for modifications to the engine, and I'm there. $25-35K isn't unreasonable for a lifetime dream...At least, I don't think so.

I may end up selling her in the summer, but were I to keep her, I'd basically turn her into an SS by adding a supercharger, and try to stiffen the handling up. Add a Magnaflow exhaust, since they sound great with the 3800 SII. Toss in a PCM tune and leather interior (w. heated seats) swap. And since this is a dream build, a bare metal respray to black metallic (it's beige metallic now).

If money is no issue? Allow me to get stupid.

Begin with this:

Kinja'd!!!

Now yank both the front and rear subframes, and the entire powertrain. Install Camaro front and rear subframes, add driveline tunnel in passenger compartment, and tie subframes to each other and the unibody using steel tubing. Given the wider track front and rear of the Camaro, add widebody as needed.

Insert LS9, and six speed manual. Add custom everything to make it work (that list is waaaaay too long for me to spell out here) and hoon.

That's easy. I have a 2011 Dodge Charger that I would dearly love to make an SRT8 inside and out ... except I'd keep the 3.6L Pentastar and throw on a twin-turbo setup, and install all of the factory hardware to make it all-wheel drive. Also, if it's at all possible to build up a six-speed manual transmission from a Pentastar-equipped Wrangler and make it work in the Charger with all of the all-wheel drive running gear, throw that in there too.

What an excellent topic :)

I've got plans for all of my cars, starting with my Alfa 156.

Kinja'd!!!

It's currently a 2.5l with ~190bhp, but they also did a 3.0l version of it's V6 for the 166 and GTV with ~220bhp. I'd swap one of those in, maybe with a remap to ~230bhp. Couple that to a set of sport/comfort aftermarket shocks and springs, an LSD, some Hispec 4-pots on the front, 225 section tyres and the GTA anti-roll bars that I've already got fitted. Perfect.

I could go crazy with a 3.8l 330bhp engine, or even a 400+bhp 3.7l supercharged V6 but the idea behind it would be to make a really, really nice daily driver, not a hot-rod.

Next up is my Triumph Spitfire, which I'm already halfway through said dream build .

Kinja'd!!!

It's getting a rebuilt 2.5l Triumph I6 in place of the 1.3l I4 it had stock. I'm looking at between 170 and 180bhp and similar torque using the original mechanical fuel injection system. Lots of lightweight bits and weight relocation to get the weight distribution the same as a stock Spitfire (and only ~20kg heavier than stock at each end). I could go lighter and get the same weight as a Spit, but that'd be expensive and I'm not sure I could maintain a decent weight distribution.

To sort out the stopping and turning I've got some wider alloys to house some 175 or 185 section tyres (not sure the 185s will fit), some GT6 brakes (might upgrade to Hispec 4-pots as well if the budget stretches to them), and a modified rotoflex rear suspension using proper CV joints instead of a rubber doughnut.

Should be an absolute rocketship, weighing only about 750kg by the time I'll have finished.

I had plans for my Jag as well, before the tree fell on it :S

Kinja'd!!!

It came with 221bhp stock, and I had a set of silencer replacement pipes that would add about 15bhp to that (stock they're heavily silenced). I was also in the closing stages of swapping a manual 5-speed in place of the 3-speed auto. Ultimately, I'd love to make an estate version like this prototype, maybe with a 300bhp NA Jaguar I6, or the 330bhp supercharged Jag I6 from an early Aston DB7.

Kinja'd!!!

Then it had an oak tree fall on it :S

Kinja'd!!!

Now, I'm looking at this XJR . Pretty much the same car as mine, but with a 4.0l 251bhp I6 (the base 4.0l only produced 223bhp, but a heap more torque than the 3.6).

I'd do the same with this, except without the estate conversion. They only made ~200 of these 4.0l XJRs so they're a bit rare to go hacking up.

Bilstien 5100s all around and a stiffer rear leaf pack. That'll probably give me 2" of lift. New tires, stock ones are great for a car, crap for a truck, I'm looking at Cooper Discoverer AT3s. The big thing is going to be a TRD supercharger for extra pulling powah. After that maybe a nice exhaust kit and then I'll pretty much be happy with her.
